For the 2013 Wimbledon Championships, Nike released and promoted limited edition orange soled grass tennis sneakers. While the rest of the sneaker was predominantly white, the bright neon orange outsole stood out on the courts of Wimbledon where the all-white dress code was enforced. After one match wearing the controversial sneakers, Federer was informed by Wimbledon that they should not be worn again. The limited edition sneakers quickly sold out after they became the most infamous shoes Federer ever wore.
These size 10 sneakers have been signed on the right shoe by Roger Federer at the 2015 Shanghai Rolex Masters VIP Gala dinner; there is also a photo of Federer signing them. As Federer signed, he jokingly said “Where did you get these shoes? They were the only black mark in my tennis career!”
