Presented here is a pair of custom-made Nike tennis shoes match-issued to Roger Federer for 2012 US Open, where the Swiss maestro entered the tournament as the top seed and reigning Wimbledon champion. These shoes were specially designed and tailored for Federer, featuring player-exclusive details not made available to the public. This was an extra pair that he did not end up wearing during the tournament. These sneakers are completely different than publicly available pairs. Federer's pair features his embroidered RF logo as well as a US Open trophy design with the number 5, signifying Federer's 5 previous US Open triumphs. This is a detail that Federer's sneakers did not see again after the 2015 US Open, as Nike was no longer allowed to use the trophy on their product due to an intellectual property dispute. Federer's sneakers have a carbon fiber plate in the sole, not present on retail versions, as well as an entirely different outsole tread pattern.

Federer has also signed each shoe on the toe box.
