Dominic Thiem, who has been called the "Prince of Clay," had a clay season in 2019 marked by notable highs. Thiem won the Barcelona Open, and achieved wins over Federer and Nadal over the course of the clay season. Thiem ultimately reached the final of the French Open, after defeating Djokovic in an epic semifinal.

Thiem used this very racket during the 2019 clay season, until his match at the 2019 Rome Masters against Fernando Verdasco. After a frustrating match fueled by scheduling disputes with the Rome Masters organizers, Thiem smashed the racket.

This racket was custom made for Thiem by Babolat. It features a Babolat customization sticker which reads "D. Thiem 2019-1 6." It comes with a letter of authenticity from the original recipient, who worked at the Rome Masters and was given the racket by Thiem.
