Rafael Nadal used this exact custom pro stock Babolat tennis racket for the famous 2011 Madrid Open Final match against Djokovic, in which he hit what many consider the greatest shot of his career. World #1 Nadal arrived to the 2011 Madrid Open Final as the defending champion, setting up a highly anticipated match against Novak Djokovic. Djokovic, on the other hand, was in the midst of the best season of his career; Djokovic had so far posted an unbelievable 29-0 start to the season (an undefeated run that would finally end at 41 matches).
Nadal ultimately lost the final in a 7-5 6-4 battle, but the match produced some incredible tennis including one of the most unforgettable shots in the history of tennis. During the first game of the second set, Nadal executed a tweener-lob winner over Djokovic that captivated the tennis world and the world highlights of sport. A stunned Djokovic could only applaud the shot in response. It remains the most famous tweener of Nadal’s career, and perhaps his greatest shot ever.
